Our top study tips for 11+ exam preparation:

– When you start preparing, don’t go straight into tests; make sure you understand all concepts, then test at later stages to practice them.

– When you do go into tests, try to do them in test conditions so you are used to it for the day.

– While studying may seem like the most important thing, it’s important you fit in a few breaks. This will help you to de-stress and keep in a positive mood for when you study.

– Don’t leave it late. It’s a bad idea to study very lightly for some time, then work a lot before the exam – instead, you should at the earlier stages try to understand everything, spreading work out evenly, so when it comes to the time before the exam, you just need to revise.

– Always get a good night’s sleep. Staying up at night will not help to study at all. In fact, if you haven’t had enough sleep, you will be in a bad mental state. You should instead aim for early nights and early mornings.
